We’re excited to connect with you and share tools and resources that will help your students learn how farming and agriculture is important to their everyday lives. Students engage in hands-on, applied learning through our programs, built from current academic standards by grade level. Check out the resources below to see what might meet your student’s needs!

• FARM Science Lab – The FARM Science Lab is our flagship offering to schools. It’s a field trip that comes right to your door and offers students an opportunity to step out of the classroom and into our mobile lab. Explore lessons with the purpose of educating students about agriculture and discover the importance agriculture has in their daily lives using science-based methods.  The FARM Science Lab requires a reservation of a two-day minimum for the lab to come to a school, and the price is $500 a day. There is no maximum number of days, and there is an additional flat fee of $100 for using our generator, if needed. Reservation Link: https://miagclassroom.org/lab/reserve/

• FARM Science Van – Our newest offering for students, this program comes directly to your schools like the FARM Science Lab. The only difference is we come into the school and teach in a dedicated classroom or space in your building. This program has greater flexibility for smaller schools or schools that may want to focus on a hands-on agriculture STEM lesson for just a grade or two. The FARM Science Van can be reserved for a minimum of 1-day, or 5 class sessions for $375 per day. Reservation Link: https://miagclassroom.org/van/reserve/

• FARM Crates – These are a lesson in a box, and we’ve taken the planning off the table for you with ready-to-use resources for your students. Individual crates are $40 apiece, or a subscription of four crates for $120.  FARM Crate purchase: https://michigan-ag-in-theclassroom10.mybigcommerce.com/subscription-boxes/

• Lesson Matrix – If you’re looking to dig a little deeper into agriculture as a tool for teaching, our lesson matrix can help you find ready to use lessons with complimentary resources that you can customize for your own classroom. You can search by grade, topic, standard, etc. Check out all our information on https://miagclassroom.org/matrix/

• Teacher Professional Development – We offer teacher Professional Development several times a year and through various conferences hosted by entities like Michigan Science Teachers Association, Michigan Reading Association, etc. Connect with us on social media or sign up for our bi-monthly newsletter to learn about upcoming opportunities. Check out all our information on https://miagclassroom.org/edu/

These resources are available to all educators regardless whether they are a member or not. Wayne County Farm Bureau offers many grants to make the cost of these resources minimal or even free.  Please contact the office at (734) 459-1855 for more information.
