Growing up in Webberville, I spent time on my uncle’s farm as well as my grandpa’s. I was involved in 4-H and FFA, eventually serving as a state FFA officer.

So while I didn’t grow up on a farm, I grew up around them and was involved in agricultural organizations throughout school and college. After graduating from Michigan State with my degree in agriculture communications, I lived in Tustin for three years before moving back to the Lansing area.

Tustin? Correct: I worked at Kettunen Center (RIP) for four years, first as marketing coordinator then as operations manager.

My husband Ramey works for AgroLiquid, and while we don’t personally farm, we are both involved in agriculture and love working with and serving farmers.

Here at Farm Bureau I’m the membership development manager, so I oversee the volunteer membership campaigns, membership processing, membership numbers and reports, and work with the insurance company and new agents on membership-related training and promotion.

The main part — and the part I like best — relates to the volunteer membership campaigns and making sure our volunteers have the right resources in hand to promote the value of membership and recruit and retain regular members.

Ramey and I have two children — Eleanor, 7, and Beau, 5 — and two dogs: Bash is a mini-bernedoodle and Darby, well, we call her our whoopsiedoodle but technically she’s a goldendoodle.

When we aren't at the kids' taekwondo class, or dance, or 4-H dog club, or soccer or church activities, we enjoy camping, swimming and spending time with friends. I also enjoy reading but couldn't tell you when I last read an actual book instead of listening to an audiobook!
