Even 90+ temps couldn’t melt Eaton’s annual

Eaton County members of all ages enjoyed the special kind of fellowship only a Farm Bureau annual meeting can offer.

Awards, celebration and policy infused Eaton County Farm Bureau’s 2023 Annual Meeting Aug. 23 outside Charlotte.

On a blistering 90+ degree day, Eaton County members filled the barn at Hidden Creek Farms, where they enjoyed a fantastic barbeque dinner — complete with a local specialty, Pray Farms’ famous sweet corn, hand-picked fresh that same day.

Over dinner and through much of the evening, members visited and caught up on each other’s families and farms, with the early-season drought being a common theme.

Several members were honored with awards and recognition, beginning with Volunteer of the Year Sinda Venton, owner of Carlisle Lavendar Farm.

Eaton County’s Agricultural Promoter of the Year honor went to Adam and Haley Auvenshine, owners of Hidden Creek Farms.

Members weighed in on several policy discussions as well, addressing such topics as crop damage and wildlife.

Despite the oppressive heat, everyone in attendance clearly enjoyed their time together, celebrating the past year’s achievements as members of the Eaton County Farm Bureau!
