Five ways to maximize your FFA award reports

State FFA Award County Reports are ready to be put into action! By March 22, county Farm Bureau administrative managers (CAMs) will receive a list of all high school FFA members within their county who were recognized during the Michigan FFA State Convention, March 8-10 at Michigan State University.

Why are these reports valuable to your county? Here are five reasons:

1. Students listed as Outstanding Juniors would make a great list of volunteers for your next Project RED or Ag in the Classroom activity.
2. Want to boost your Harvest for All involvement? Reach out to your chapters who received National Chapter or Building Our Michigan Communities awards! They’d make great partners.
3. If your county has a State Band, Choir or Talent participant, invite them to sing or play at your county annual meeting dinner.
4. Looking for away to boost social media content? If your FFA chapter received a #SpeakAgMichigan award, they participated in the Michigan Farm Bureau challenge to connect with consumers through Facebook. Perhaps a couple students can help organize and design content for your county’s page!
5. And here’s one for our Membership Captains: Review all the state degree recipients. These are high school seniors who have 50 hours of community service, have served in leadership roles, productively invested at least $2,000 and worked at least 450 hours on their supervised agricultural experience. Sounds like pretty awesome traits to include in your prospect lists.
