Biniecki earns Friend of Ag endorsement in 31st House district race

“My district is largely farms and rural single family homes,” said Biniecki. “Small towns are also intertwined within the district. I want my community to have the representation it deserves. In Michigan, large cities with many representatives seem to control the narrative of how laws are written, and money is spent. I want to be the voice of my whole community.”

AgriPac is backing Dale Biniecki in his bid for Michigan’s 31st House District seat, designating him a Friend of Agriculture in their endorsement for the Nov. 8 general election.

The 31st House district includes parts of Lenawee, Monroe, Washtenaw, and Wayne counties.

Biniecki has a long history of involvement with agriculture at many levels, including spending 47 years as a truck owner/operator hauling farm commodities and road building products. He also helped on his family farm from his childhood until 1990, raising corn, wheat, soybeans and oats along with cattle, hogs and chickens.

“For many years I was in business with my father and brother at a grain elevator, feed mill and fertilizer supply company in Maybee, Michigan,” Biniecki said. “Since retirement I still haul grain, fertilizer and tomatoes for local farmers and co-ops.”

In addition to Biniecki’s extensive on-farm experience, he’s a past 4-H leader and is an executive member of the Monroe County Republican Club.

He chairs the group’s display at the Monroe County Fair and is the designated buyer for youth 4-H market animal projects and instituted a program in which animals are processed and the meat is donated to senior centers, meal programs and active military families.

Biniecki said he’s running for office to give people in his district peace of mind.

“My district is largely farms and rural single family homes,” Biniecki wrote.

“Small towns are also intertwined within the district. I want my community to have the representation it deserves. In Michigan, large cities with many representatives seem to control the narrative of how laws are written, and money is spent. I want to be the voice of my whole community.”

Biniecki believes the energy issues are a major problem in Michigan, citing cost and stability concerns.

“Fertilizer, herbicides and farm machinery all require oil products,” he said.

“Food processing, transportation and distribution is also based on energy consumption. The halting of the Line 5 rebuild shows that our current government does not have the best interest of Michigan consumers in mind.”

Biniecki’s plan for supporting growth in rural communities and the agricultural economy by revisiting the state’s tax structure.

“When large companies and businesses wish to build in metro areas, they are often given a property tax break,” Biniecki added.

“I feel that such breaks should also be given to farms that increase the size of their operations and number of employees.”
